Who am I? I wonder and I still don't know, Originally from Switzerland, I followed my husband to Sweden. We have always been on the run working in different countries for international organisations. We finally settled in Sweden again. But in my heart I don't know where I belong. These pilgrimages are a way to search and if I don't find the answer in this life, I leave it to the next... Follow me in my quest ...

Compostella 2017 / Via Podiensis 2022

In 2017, I walked from Lourdes in France to Santiago di Compostella and Finisterre in Spain. My trip followed the trail of The Northern Way of Saint James. 2022 time for a new camino, France this time. A friend and I will follow the Via Podiensis from Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean Pied-de-Port. The plan is 33 days and extra days to Bayonne, Arcachon and Bordeaux

Day 28, 29, 30 Eauze to Chapelle-sensac

Day 28, 29, 30 Eauze to Chapelle-sensac

Day 28 Eauze to Nogaro, Day 29 Nogaro to Aire-sur-l'Adour, Day 30 Aire-sur-l'Adour to Chapelle-Sensacq We left Eauze quite traumatized, the " pilgrim house" where we stayed was actually a dive. The diner and everything was good, the armagnac as well but the room itself was horrible. No windows ( I am claustrophob) and Marie-noëlle was sure that it
Day 35 Aroue to Ostabat

Day 35 Aroue to Ostabat

Day 35 Aroue to Ostabat the 8th of May 25 km warm, cold, warm, cold... again The first part of the way was much on asphalt but the last 8km were perfect, exactly what we expect from a camino... We came to the point where all the french caminos join, the one from the coastal area used by English pilgrims once upon a time, the one from Paris and Nort
Day 29 Nogaro to Aire-sur-L' Adour

Day 29 Nogaro to Aire-sur-L' Adour

Day 32 Nogaro to Aire-sur-L'Adour 25 km, flat, boring ladscape, mixed weather This was a real trial, what a boring section. And everybody talks about the pilgrimage being like the real life with ups and downs and boring sections. Unfortunately, I have never liked boring sections of life either. So, it is not really fun. After that superboring day,
Day 28 Eauze to Nogaro

Day 28 Eauze to Nogaro

Day 31 Eauze to Nogaro 1st of May and a sunday...25,6 km A OK day, nothing special to report on the walk itself as it is slightly boring at the moment and flat. There was a car race in Nogaro when we arrived. A car race???? In a small hole like that? And noisy it was. What a contrast after a quiet day. Some pictures from this day Many wineyards one
Day 32 Lareulle to Argagnon

Day 32 Lareulle to Argagnon

Day 32 Lareulle to Argagnon 25 km the 5th of May. OK weather From the farm in Lareulle to Argagnon, the day was quite uneventful. Unfortunately, there was a lot of asphalt again or mud. It does not seem like it is something in between. It is very wet somehow. Everything is humid. We stayed in rural guesthouse that day. Lovely garden, loads of dogs
Day 33 Argagnon to Navarrenx

Day 33 Argagnon to Navarrenx

Day 33 Argagnon to Navarrenx the 6th of May 25 km. Mixed weather. One minute freezing, the next cooking We are back to the ups and downs of the beginning. Nothing wrong with that, it is much more variated and nice sceneries but we are of course more tired in the evening. Here are a few pictures from the road today, very much asphalted. The local co
Day 27 Montréal to Eauze

Day 27 Montréal to Eauze

Day 27 Montréal to Eauze the 30th of April 21km (a few extra due to missing the signs) good weather, around 19 degrees. We are coming to the vineyards. The famous Armagnac is distilled here. You can taste the stuff a bit everywhere if you like it. Notice that the distance to Compostella on the sign is under 1000 km which means that we have walked
Day 31 chapelle sansacq (la ferme Marsan) - Lareulle

Day 31 chapelle sansacq (la ferme Marsan) - Lareulle

Day 31 Chapelle Sansacq to Lareulle 23,5 km. The 4th of May. Quite good weather, a bit nicer sceneries It seems like the few last bits of the Compostelle way were so boring that I needed to comment a little extra on it. It is so many places with bad Wifi, I get delayed on the blog and I forget where I am. So Lareulle. We met a tired pilgrim, Michel
Day 36 Ostabat to Saint-Jean-Pied-De-Port

Day 36 Ostabat to Saint-Jean-Pied-De-Port

Day 36 Ostabat to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port the 9 th of May 19 km, the first day with fantastic weather since our departure A beautiful day, quite much asphalt but as the sceneries were beautiful and the sun was shining, it did not matter. Our host at the guesthouse was singing for us in the morning (as we heard after it is the only two songs he know
